TABC Application Process — AIMS filing, local approvals, timelines
Step 1 — Strategy & pre-check (ours): We review your business model, location, and product mix to identify the correct license/permit type and any zoning or local restrictions. We confirm permit availability for your address and whether local governing bodies must sign off.
Step 2 — Documents & local coordination (you and us): We assemble required documents: owner/background details, lease or deed, floor plans, site maps, local government certifications, and bond/insurance proof if required. We coordinate any city/county public notices or hearings.
Step 3 — AIMS filing & TABC intake: We create/prepare your AIMS application and submit it. AIMS is the recommended filing method and usually speeds processing versus paper. We track TABC requests and respond through AIMS so your application stays active.
Step 4 — Local certification & public posting: Many licenses require local approval or a 60-day public posting for certain application types (we manage timing and required notices). We shepherd signatures and prepare for any local hearings.
Step 5 — TABC review & issuance: Once TABC has a complete application and local certifications, the agency reviews the file and, if complete, issues the permit. We stay on top of TABC follow-ups and make sure you meet deadlines for requested items.
Step 6 — After license: compliance & renewals: Licenses typically expire every two years — we add reminders, help with compliance training, and prepare renewals so you stay in good standing.
